' Three Brothers' won "2010 Best 5"
The writer of "Three Brothers," also writer of KBS' 2006 hit drama series "Famous Princesses" (소문난 칠공주), captured the hearts of audiences by writing realistic stories about family values that bring tears to viewers' eyes.
As most family dramas do not get much popularity in ratings and audiences, from Episode 8 to Episode 28, TNS Media showed that the ratings shot up an outstanding 40% within a short period of time.
The story of parents having three children, making common family mistakes, and followed by confrontation and solving problems through family values have viewers confirm that the drama was refreshing and relieving, as many can relate to their own families.
KBS "Three Brothers" even topped SBS' star-casted, highly-anticipated, and controversial drama "Life is Beautiful" (인생은 아름다워) by 17.29%
In the last scene of "Three Brothers," the writers crafted the story so that a bad character fell to the ground. The audience actually participated in this portion of the drama, as viewers highly requested for some characters to receive karma for their wrongdoings.
“Marry Me, Marry” on KBS WORLDi!
Marry Me, Marry (매리는 외박중), first premiered and aired in Seoul, is now fully updated with episodes on www.kbsworldi.com! The drama is inspired by the comic series written by Won Soo-yeon, who also wrote KBS hit drama series “Full House” (2004). Mary (Moon Geun-young) is an inspiring eco-friendly designer without any prior designing experience. She is cute and quirky, like her late mother, but also has a feisty and short-tempered personality from her father. One day, Mary attends a glam Rock and Roll concert and is amazed at the soulful singer Mu-gyul (Jang Geun-suk). Mu-gyul seems like a typical rocker with rough and carefree characteristics. After Mary gets to know him later, they realize that the two polar-opposite personalities can rapidly grow to friendship and love. But there’s a catch! Since the age of 5, Mary already has set arrangements to be married with Jung-in (Kim Jae-wook) from her strict and over-protective father. Will Mary choose the poor indie rocker or the president of a successful entertainment company? |
King Geunchogo - played by Kam Woo Sung The 13th King of Baek-je, he also carries the title, "King of conquest" through his history of endless battles. Being expelled from the palace by his father by disobeying his ways, he dreams to travel freely beyond the Kingdoms of Korea and around the world.
Buyeo Hwa- played by Kim Ji Soo The Princess and only daughter of King Buyeo Joon. She may only be the daughter of a king, but when there is a crisis, she acts as her father's partner to make important decisions. Because of arranged marriages, she was not planning to love and is supposed to be against other kings, other than her father. How will she act when she accidently falls in love with King Geunchogo?
King Gogukwon- played by Lee Jong Won The eldest son of the late King Michun and ruled after his father's death. He is characterized as "fire" because his actions and opinions are very strong. A dangerous weakness King Gogukwon holds is that he is quiet with failing soldiers and other royalty members have conflicting opinions. He just might not be able to hold his anger in any longer and is able to destroy people and places. He and King Geunchogo share the same dream: they want to rule all the land.
Hae Gun- played by Lee Ji Hoon Blood related to the royal family of Baek-je, King Buyeo Joon trusts Hae Gun like his own son. He is very sharp and finds himself to use his intelligence to do malicious planning for the kingdom. Hae Gun wants King Buyeo Joon to be king of all, instead of King Geunchogo. He is in love with the princess Bueyo Hwa. |
