Protagonist Attempts to Escape Prison

The tension is building up in "The Fugitive: Plan B" as a protagonist is being set up as the one behind a mysterious murder case.

In the episode #8,Gee-woo1028 Rain (Rain), a private investigator hired by Ji-ni (Lee Na-young) to investigate who killed her parents, is caught by police as well as painted as Melgidec, the real murder suspect.  Trying to find a way out of prison, Gee-woo succeeds in obtaining a pen he can use to unlock the handcuffs on his wrist when a fellow investigator comes to find Do-soo (Lee Jung-jin), who is watching Gee-woo. But his attempt does not succeed.

While Gee-woo is trying to figure out the true identity of Kai, who Ji-ni loves and trusts and who is plotting to paint him as Melgidec, Ji-ni comes and hurls criticism at him, saying she hasn’t suspected at all that he could be Melgidec.  The fabricated evidence proves it -- Gee-woo wired money to the account of Kevin (Oh Ji-ho), his best friend who died in a mysterious fire, whenever Ji-ni’s people were killed. It means that Gee-woo is Melgidec, and that he asked Kevin to get rid of them.  When he hears this from Do-soo, Gee-woo denies his involvement, saying the account is not his and claiming that he knows who is behind this conspiracy. But that does not help prove his innocence, and he is to be transferred to prosecutors.  Before being handed over to prosecutors, Gee-woo calls Ji-ni and says firmly that the evidence is fabricated and she should not believe anything.  And he once again tries to unlock the handcuffs with a straw he had hidden earlier.

Stars of ‘Marry Me, Mary’ Pose in Wedding Outfits

Some stills of the upcoming drama “Marry Me, Mary” have been released, generating further hype for the show, which will succeed “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” from November 8 (Seoul).

1028 Moon

The photos feature Moon Geun-young as a bride looking serious rather than happy between two grooms: Jang Keun-suk and Kim Jae-wook. Their styles are unusual for a wedding. Jang wears skinny jeans with a dangling chain and half-length boots, while Kim is dressed in a tuxedo but wears sneakers. Moon wears a mini wedding dress with long hair flowing down the back. And the set is not a bright, beautifully-decorated wedding hall but a dreary graveyard with fallen leaves scattered around.

“Marry Me, Mary” is a romantic comedy revolving around a girl who comes to marry two men on contract. It is based on the series of comics by Won Soo-yeon, the author of “Full House” and written by In Eun-a, who wrote the mega-hit “Princess Hours.”

‘The Fugitive: Plan B’ Begins Amid Much Hype

20101007 Fugitive

The KBS drama “The Fugitive: Plan B” has finally lifted its veil with its first episode on September 29 in Seoul.  Succeeding “Bread, Love and Dreams,” the new drama has generated great hype with its top cast and crew members.  The director-writer combo behind the hit drama “The Slave Hunters” -- Gwak Jung-hwan and Chun Seung-il -- have teamed up together once again for the blockbuster show starring Lee Na-young, Rain and Daniel Henney.  Many stars from “The Slave Hunters” made cameo appearance in the first episode, including Lee Da-hye, Oh Ji-ho, Sung Dong-il, Kong Hyung-jin and Cho Hee-bong.  Lee Da-hae appeared as the girlfriend of Gee-woo, played by Rain, a notorious lady killer and private investigator.

Gee-woo tries to appease his girlfriend, who becomes angry when she finds out that he has set his eyes on another woman.  He swears that he will live only for her once they marry and proposes to her with a ring.  She feels pleased and smiles brightly, but right at that moment Gee-woo asks her to lend him 300 million won.  She slaps him on the cheek, cursing, throws down the ring and leaves.

Viewers poured out their expectations on the drama board, saying, “Like the director’s previous work, ‘The Slave Hunters,’ I have high hopes for spectacular, action-packed scenes,” “It’s novel and intriguing,” and “It’s a thrilling drama I’ve not seen for a long time.”

'Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ Hints at Budding Romance

20101007 Sungkyunkwan

A boy of example has fallen for a girl disguised as a boy to study at the male-only Confucian school Sungkyunkwan in the drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.”  In the Episode #10, Kim Yun-hee (Park Min-young) disguises herself as a gisaeng, a traditional female entertainer, to help Lee Seon-jun (Micky) hide from the men sent by Ha In-su (Jeon Tae-soo), an evil school representative who tries to harm them.  The two then run away together from In-su and have an opportunity to show their feelings for each other.  Seon-jun says, “It wasn’t pity I felt for you. I admired your talents at first and then wanted to be friends with you.  But I just didn’t know how to because I never had such feelings.” In tears, Yun-hee responds, “You shouldn’t do this to me. You don’t know how hard I’ve tried to suppress my feelings and concentrate on studying.”  Bewildered to see Yun-hee crying, Seon-jun tries to comfort her saying, “It’s all my fault. Forgive me and stop crying.”

But after that Seon-jun cannot keep himself from looking at her lips. He feels nervous to see her wearing lipstick and even eating a meal.  Meanwhile, the four protagonists -- Yun-hee, Seon-jun and Gu Yong-ha (Song Joong-ki) and Moon Jae-shin (Yu A-in) -- catch a suspect of the incident where all the valuables at the school were stolen. Yun-hee is entrapped and fingered as a perpetrator, which puts her at risk of being expelled from the school. But they learn the suspect committed the crime to save his mother, and let him go. 'Qualifications' Choir Delivers Stunning Harmony

0930 Men

The choir of the cast of "Happy Sunday-Qualifications of Men" delivered an impressive performance in tears.  In the latest episode, the amateur men's choir finally showcased their hard practice on stage. They were nervous up until the final rehearsal but once the show began, their voices, harmony and dance moves were impeccably perfect. Their teacher Jaerim shed tears watching his proud students. They ended the performance to thunderous applause and the members, one after another, began to cry.

In a surprise party for their teachers Jaerim, Kolleen Park and the pianists, the choir members gave them a video as a token of gratitude as well as a baton and a necklace shaped like a bat, which was chosen particularly for Park, who had the sharpest ear for hearing music, much like a bat.  Park, moved, said, "The past two months was a drama to me. It's been lonely and tough doing in music in Korea for 20 years as a foreigner. Always after a performance, I feel empty and sad but I felt less of this as I aged. I'm so proud of you all for coming together as complete strangers and building trust in music. I thank you and I love you."  The 33 members and the teachers joined their hearts together and created stunning harmony. Their heartfelt endeavor of the past two months was unforgettable.

Hit Dramas Mixed to Give Big Laugh

0930 Cinderella

The Chuseok special program "Big Star X-files" featured brilliant editing work in piecing together two hit KBS dramas, "Bread, Love and Dreams" and "Cinderella's Stepsister," into one.  The newly-born drama, in which separate scenes were combined with the purpose to be comical and highly outrageous, gave a big laugh to viewers.

In the remade story, Takgu (Yun Si-yun) struggles to make bread without yeast so he visits a fermentation and makgeolli (Korean rice wine) expert. There, he sneaks into an enzyme laboratory where he is caught by Eunjo (Mun Geun-yeong). Eunjo begins to swear at him but realizes that Takgu was once the next door boy she had a crush on. The two fall in love in three seconds. Meanwhile Mr. Gu Il-jung (Jeon Gwang-ryeol) is saved by Song Gang-suk (Lee Mi-suk) in a car accident and falls for her immediately and starts a double life with the mistress but is soon discovered by his wife Seo In-suk (Jeon In-hwa). For this part, a scene from the film "Besa Me Mucho" in which Jeon and Lee appeared as lovers, was inserted.  In-suk confronts Gang-suk and says, "Just the thought of you drives me mad and wakes me up at night." Gang-suk rebuts, "How dare you stand up to me? I even beat Buddha in a showdown." In-suk senses she won't be able to suppress Gang-suk on her own so she asks Hyo-seon (Seo Wu) to do it for her.  Meanwhile, the lovebirds Takgu and Eunjo work on a new bread to submit to a contest. Hopes of a happy ending are crushed when fire breaks out at the bread plant.

Tak-gu finally manages to enter Geoseong Group. But his joy is shortlived. Someone is calling his name, Hyeon-gyeong (Oh Hyeon-gyeong), the mother of Jun-hyeok student (played by Yun Si-yun in a different sitcom). She kicks him to get up and go to school. The whole story was his dream!

Rain on the New Drama ‘The Fugitive: Plan B’

0930 Raining

Singer and actor Rain (real name Jung Ji Hoon), who made a comeback to the small screen after a five-year break by appearing in "The Fugitive: Plan B," said at the production presentation, “I took the role of an extraordinary character who cannot be found on TV Channels or in the movies. I wanted to create a totally new character in this drama.”  The action drama filmed in many cities of Asian countries, will tell the story of an astronomically valued gold bar which had disappeared during the Korean War. It is also noteworthy as the production director Kwak Jung Hwan and writer Chun Sung Il, who had participated in producing the drama "The Slave Hunters," have formed a production team again.

Jung Ji Hoon plays a private investigator named Ji Woo who cares greatly about money and women. Ji Woo has a shameless and positive personality, but he will be challenged by becoming involved in an unfinished case. As he had received a request to take on the case from a mysterious woman named Jin Yi (Lee Na Young), he ended up engaging in a large-scale conspiracy involving the said gold bar. Rain added, “The writer told me that he wanted to make a character who is very serious but focused person when it comes to issues of women and money, and I totally agreed with his idea.” Ji Woo will continuously be chased by a policeman named Do Soo (Lee Jung Jin), so the chase scenes take up a large portion of the drama.  He also said, “I feel really good about this drama. I actually had a very auspicious dream, but I did not buy any lottery tickets so I could apply all that luck toward the drama’s success instead. If the viewer ratings for this drama reach more than 40 percent, I will disclose what it was about.”
